Info / FAQ's

We are currently taking reservations for Winter 2017 / Spring 2018. A $200 deposit is required to reserve a future start date. If you have a smaller project please feel free to contact us as it may be possible to work you in sooner. (Last updated September 2017)
Do you paint anything other than motorcycles?
Yes! Although motorcycles are our specialty we would love to do just about any project you have in mind. The one restriction is that the project must fit through a 36" door. So snowmobiles, snowboards, guitars, rifle stocks, signs, portraits - you name it - are all fair game.

When we built MCP we were adamant that we did not want to get into the collision repair business, and intentionally built the main booth without a car-sized door. If an automobile is what you are looking to get painted please contact us. We have relationships with a few local body shops that we use when the projects are too big for our shop.

How much does a paint job cost?
This is dependant on the paint job, the type of bike and condition of the parts to start with, and can vary from $1000 to $5000 or higher. It is helpful if a customer has determined a comfortable budget in advance. Then we can work together to get you the most bang for your buck. Before any work is started a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due on acceptance and receipt of the finished job.

How long does a paint job take to complete?
The time it takes to paint your motorcycle varies depending on the scope of the project, the type of bike and the current workload in the shop. Our typical turnaround time is 3-5 weeks once the project is here. However, certain times of the year can be busier than others, and we typically have a backlog. In addition, if possible we like to let painted parts cure a bit before they go back out - especially if they are being shipped.

How soon can we start on my project?
Please check out the reservation schedule above to find out when our next openings are. The schedule is basically referring to complete motorcycle paint jobs. If you have something smaller it may be quite possible to get you in sooner. Please feel free to contact us at (406) 626-4749 to discuss it.

What kind of paints do you use?
We spray primarily House of Kolor and PPG automotive urethanes on the majority of our projects. We use Sata spray guns and Iwata airbrushes.

What kind of warranty do you offer?
On "ground up" paint jobs (meaning we stripped everything bare before starting) MCP offers a 36 month warranty. This covers anything outside of impact damage. No paint is rock-proof or 100% fuel resistant, and damage from either of these is not covered. MCP also does not cover labor or shipping charges to return parts to us.

Basically, if we are responsible - we will fix it. If not, it's up to you - but we will certainly assist if required.

Can I ship my parts to you?
Many of our customers ship their "tins" to us. Please package the parts well, as we will return them in the same boxes. Get some extra sturdy boxes and make sure they are large enough to allow 2 layers of bubble wrap all around the parts. All hardware (with the exception of glued on badges or emblems) should be removed before shipping the parts. The gas tank should be thoroughly aired out as well. In addition the parts should be washed to remove heavy dirt under the fenders, etc.

Shipping charges will be included in your quote and will include added insurance for the return trip.
